I hitched a ride with a Finnish pilot working for a NGO, delivering goods and people to the war-torn areas in Sudan and Congo. I didn't get to go to those places (the planes were actually filled up with useful stuff, not stupid tourists), but I did get to go to Lokichoki, which was only a few kilometers from the border with Sudan. It was my first time in such a small plane and sitting in the co-pilot seat really made for some great scenery. I had the controls for a while as well, which, I must say again, was pretty cool. That's a DC-3 in the background, from the plane graveyard of Wilson Airport, Kenya.
